Afte the bankreptcy of the carrier Adria Airways and after all its flights from Ljubljana Airport have been cancelled, SWISS will be the first to establish new flights and will be operating five weekly services from Zurich to Ljubljana starting on October 16. From October 27 onwards, the airline will extend its offering to a daily connection with the start of the winter schedule.
Starting in mid-October, the Lufthansa Group Airlines will be connecting the Zurich, Brussels, Munich and Frankfurt hubs with Ljubljana Airport. Travelers from Slovenia will be able to benefit from Lufthansa Group’s worldwide network. All connections are now available for booking.
From its hub in Frankfurt, Lufthansa will operate twice a day offering 14 weekly connections to Ljubljana, starting in the winter schedule on 27 October 2019. The Lufthansa hub in Munich will follow by offering daily connections beginning on 1 November.
Brussels Airlines will also launch new flights from Brussels to Ljubljana. The Belgian carrier will offer six connections per week, starting 04 November.
With these new flights, the Lufthansa Group will connect passengers from all over the world to Slovenia and at the same time open the gateway for travellers from the Slovenian capital to take advantage of the Lufthansa Group worldwide network. All connections are now available for booking. Tickets are available in most Slovenian travel agencies and online.
Zmago Skobir, managing director of Fraport Slovenija, has welcomed the announcement with the following words: »Re-establishing flight connections to important business centres and hubs as Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich and Brussels confirms our expectations, that commercially interesting connections will soon be back in Ljubljana Airport’s network. We will strive to further expand our flight network and improve its connectivity.”
All other airlines – Aeroflot, Air France, Air Serbia, easyJet, Finnair, LOT Polish Airlines, Montenegro Airlines, Transavia, Turkish Airlines and Wizz Air – are operating their flights from Ljubljana Airport according to the actual timetable.
