Raftsmen on the river Drava are preserving timber-rafting tradition

Barbara Gavez Volčjak, Večer, 28. avgust 2018 –

The Drava is glimmering in the sun, when in the village Gortina, very near the settlement Muta, we turn from the main road between Maribor and Dravograd towards the timber-rafting quay. Along the bank is moored a timber raft, called in Slovenian informally »flos«, waiting for passengers to take them few kilometres downriver.
